Terms of Service
Effective October 1, 2026 · Version 1
Summary
- Useless Space Selfie is a just-for-fun web service that turns a photo of your pet into a spacesuit selfie and a mission card. Operation names, titles and grades are drawn at random and have nothing to do with real spaceflight or facts.
- Prices: your first launch in each browser is free; after that, 1 ticket costs $1.99 and a pack of 2 costs $2.99 (VAT included).
- Right of withdrawal: paid launch tickets are digital content you can use right after payment, so the right of withdrawal can be limited once you use one. Conditions and country differences are in the Right of withdrawal section below.
- Liability: for losses not caused by our intent or gross negligence, to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses or data loss, and our other liability is limited to what you paid in the last 12 months (see "Liability" below).
- Usage limits: there are limits on free launches and on requests, and we tell you on screen when you reach one (see "Usage limits" below).
- You must be 13 or older (14 or older in Korea) to use the service.

Who does what
Payments are processed by Dodo Payments as merchant of record. As the reseller that sells launch tickets to you, Dodo Payments handles payment, tax calculation and payment, refund payouts and payment disputes. Its terms and privacy policy also apply to your payment.
We are the provider of the Service. We are responsible for the selfie maker and providing launch tickets, answering your questions, and receiving withdrawal and refund requests.
We receive and check withdrawal and refund requests, and Dodo Payments pays refunds back to your payment method. Dodo Payments's terms do not reduce the rights the law gives you.
Who can use the service
You must be 13 or older (14 or older in Korea) to use the service and pay.
In Korea, if someone under 19 paid without a legal guardian's consent, they or their guardian can cancel the contract, and we refund the full amount (see Minors below).
What the service provides
We provide a feature that turns a photo of your pet into a spacesuit selfie, mission cards, a title collection and shared links. Selfies are made inside your browser.
Making a selfie needs a recent browser that supports 3D graphics (WebGL). You save or share result images on your device yourself and keep them there.
Paid launch tickets are tied to the browser you paid in. In another browser, or after clearing site data, you can load your remaining tickets with the payment number in your receipt email.
The service may stop for maintenance or outages, and we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted.
Changes to the service
We may change or end all or part of the service when we need to for operational or technical reasons. If a change significantly affects your ability to use launch tickets you already bought, we announce it on this site in advance.
Free features and usage limits, such as the number of free launches, may be changed or discontinued.
If we shut down the service, we announce it on this site in advance so you can use your remaining tickets.
Prices and payment
Prices are shown on the pay button and in checkout as totals including VAT. Currently 1 ticket costs $1.99 and a pack of 2 costs $2.99, and one payment gives you as many launches as the tickets you bought.
The payment currency follows the display language: Korean won (KRW) on the Korean screen and US dollars (USD) on the English and Japanese screens. If your card is in another currency, you may be charged the amount converted by your card issuer, and its foreign transaction fees depend on your agreement with it. We charge nothing beyond the amount shown at checkout.
You pay in the Dodo Payments checkout. The contract is formed when payment completes, and the launch is added to the browser you paid in right away.
If a price is clearly shown in error on the launch button or in checkout (for example, a price with the wrong number of digits), we may cancel that order. The amount you paid then goes back to your payment method in full.
You are responsible for the internet access and data charges for using the service.
Right of withdrawal
Whether you can withdraw, the period, when withdrawal is limited, how to withdraw, and how and when you are refunded are set out in the sections below.
Refunds at a glance
We sell paid launch tickets (1 ticket = 1 launch), bought once as 1 ticket or a pack of 2; they are one-time digital content. It is sold only on the web through the merchant of record Dodo Payments.
Your first launch in each browser is free. Before paying, you can use this free preview to see how a selfie turns out.
Withdrawal periods by country (from the day you pay): Korea 7 days, EU 14 days, UK 14 days. Japan has no statutory withdrawal period. When withdrawal is limited after you use a launch is explained in each country section.
Wherever you are, if you paid but no launch was added, or you were charged twice for the same payment, ask within 14 days of payment and we refund you.
Refunds — users in Korea
You can withdraw within 7 days of payment. If the launch differs from the product description, you can withdraw within 3 months of receiving it and within 30 days of noticing.
Paid launch tickets are digital content, so the right of withdrawal is limited once you use one (once supply starts), but only if before you paid we clearly displayed this limit and offered a free preview (your first launch is free). If you did not see that notice before paying, you can still withdraw within the period after using the launch. A ticket you have not used yet can be withdrawn within the period.
A pack of 2 is treated ticket by ticket. A ticket used for a launch is limited as above; if you withdraw only the tickets you have not used, we refund the amount paid divided by the number of tickets for each unused ticket (Korean E-Commerce Act Art. 17(2)(5), proviso).
Once a withdrawal is accepted, we request cancellation of the payment within 3 business days, and late interest applies if we are late (Korean E-Commerce Act Art. 18).
Refunds — users in the EU
You can withdraw within 14 days of payment without giving a reason.
For digital content, withdrawal is limited after you use a launch only if before paying you (1) agreed to immediate supply and (2) acknowledged that you cannot withdraw once supply starts, and (3) after paying and before supply started you received a confirmation of that consent and acknowledgement by email or another durable medium. We ask only for (1), with a tick box in front of the pay button, and the result screen shows when you agreed.
So a launch paid for in the EU or the EEA can be withdrawn within 14 days of payment even after you use it, and you do not have to pay for the launch you used.
To withdraw, email support@bang9.dev saying you want to withdraw from the contract, with the payment date and the payment number from your receipt email. You can use the form below, but you do not have to. We refund you to the same payment method within 14 days of receiving it.
Withdrawal form — To: winterlog studio, 5-12 Gwangmyeong-ro 347beon-gil, Jungwon-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, Republic of Korea, support@bang9.dev / I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the following digital content: (product) / Ordered on: / Name: / Address: / Date:
Refunds — users in the UK
You have the right to cancel within 14 days of payment. You lose it after using a launch only if you (1) expressly agreed to immediate supply, (2) acknowledged that you lose your right to cancel, and (3) received a confirmation of that consent and acknowledgement by email or another durable medium. We ask only for (1), with a tick box in front of the pay button.
So a launch paid for in the UK can be cancelled within 14 days of payment even after you use it, and we refund you within 14 days of your cancellation.
To cancel, email support@bang9.dev.
To cancel, you can use the form in "Refunds — users in the EU" above, but you do not have to (it has the same items as the model cancellation form in Schedule 3, Part B of the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013).
Refunds — users in Japan
There is no statutory unconditional withdrawal period for digital content bought online.
Paid launch tickets are digital content provided right after payment, so once you have paid you cannot withdraw your order or cancel the contract for personal reasons. If you paid but no launch was added, or you were charged twice, we refund you.
How to ask
Email support@bang9.dev with the payment date and the payment number from your receipt email. We reply once we have checked it.
Once we have checked your request, the merchant of record Dodo Payments refunds you to your payment method. Depending on your card issuer, it can take a few more days to arrive. A refunded ticket is removed from your remaining tickets.
Before asking your card issuer for a chargeback, please tell us first at support@bang9.dev.
Service outages
Losses caused by the service being unavailable are handled under Liability below and the law.
Minors
In Korea, if someone under 19 paid without a legal guardian's consent, they or their guardian can cancel the contract and we refund the full amount. Cancellation can be limited if the guardian allowed them to spend that money, or if they pretended to be an adult.
EU withdrawal function
When you visit from the EU, the EEA or the UK, a "Withdraw from contract here" link appears at the bottom of the first screen. Tap "Confirm withdrawal here" on that page to fill in a withdrawal email; once you send it, we acknowledge receipt to the address you sent it from. You can also email support@bang9.dev directly, and you can use the form in the "Users in the EU" section above, but you do not have to.
Difference from the merchant of record's policy
Refunds are paid back to your payment method by the merchant of record Dodo Payments. Even if Dodo Payments's buyer terms set narrower refund conditions than these terms, they do not reduce the rights the law gives you.
Usage limits
To prevent abuse, we set usage limits.
- Free launches: the first one in each browser. There is also a daily limit on free launches from the same network (IP address).
- Requests: launching and opening checkout have a limit on how many requests can be sent in a short time.
- Resuming: a launch you closed before the snap can be resumed within a set time and number of times, and the first screen tells you when you can.
The limits can change depending on usage. When you reach a limit, we tell you on screen. Paid launches can be used regardless of the daily free limit.
Shared links and crew names
The crew name you type is stored on our server only when you share a link, and it is shown to people who open that link. Shared links are kept for 30 days from creation and then deleted automatically. Photos are never part of a shared link.
The rights to your crew name stay with you. While a shared link exists, we store and show the crew name only as needed to show that link.
You must not use names that harm others or infringe their rights. Our rules and how to report are in the sections just below. We may delete shared links that break the rules.
Crew name rules
The only text other people can see in the service is the crew name (up to 12 characters) you type when you share a link. Do not put the following in a crew name:
- Abuse, hate or discrimination, or sexual content
- Ads, links or contact details
- Another person's name or personal information, or pretending to be someone else
- Anything illegal or that infringes someone else's rights
Reporting
If you see a shared link with a problem, email support@bang9.dev with the link and what is wrong. We review it and delete shared links that break the rules. We tell the person who reported it what we decided.
Blocking
A shared link is opened only by people who have it. If you receive a link you do not want, do not open it, or report it as described above. Shared links are kept for 30 days from creation and then deleted automatically.
Appeals
If your shared link was deleted and you think that was a mistake, email support@bang9.dev. We review it again and tell you the result and why. Deleted links cannot be restored.
Point of contact
Users and authorities can reach us at a single point of contact: support@bang9.dev. We answer in Korean, English and Japanese.
European Union: legal representative
Authorities and users in the European Union can contact us directly at the point of contact above (support@bang9.dev).
Copyright notices
If your copyrighted work is used in the service without permission, email support@bang9.dev with the work, where the infringing material is (the shared link), your contact details, and a statement that you are the rights holder. Notices are received at this email.
What you must not do
- Use other people's photos without permission or infringe others' rights
- Deceive or harass others with shared links and crew names, or put abuse, hate, sexual content or personal information in a crew name
- Send large volumes of automated requests to get around the free limit
- Forge launches or payments, break our security, or reverse engineer the service
- Copy and resell the service's screens, space scene or card designs
If you break these terms and cause loss to us or other users, you must compensate that loss.
Intellectual property
Rights to the service's screen design, 3D space scene and spacesuit, mission card design, text and software belong to us or their owners. The NASA materials below (Earth satellite imagery and the original 3D model of the spacesuit), however, are made freely available by NASA for anyone to use.
Image and 3D model credits: Earth satellite imagery — Imagery: NASA Worldview / EOSDIS (Suomi NPP VIIRS), NASA Blue Marble. Spacesuit — adapted by us from the Extravehicular Mobility Unit (EMU) 3D model from NASA 3D Resources. Useless Space Selfie is not affiliated with NASA, and NASA does not endorse or sponsor this service.
Rights to the photo you pick stay with you (or the original rights holder). We never receive your photo.
You can keep the selfies and mission cards you make for yourself or share them on social media. To use them to make money, such as in ads or products, you need our permission.
Suspension
We delete shared links that break the rules, and if abuse continues, we can block launches from that browser or network.
If you ask at support@bang9.dev, we tell you why we restricted your use, and you can object at the same email. If we review an objection and find that the restriction was wrong, we lift it.
Liability
We provide the service with care. However, the service is for fun, and we do not guarantee how result images look or that any particular outcome will happen.
We do not limit liability for losses caused by our intent or gross negligence, or for harm to life or body.
For other losses, to the extent the law allows, we limit our liability as follows: we are not liable for indirect losses (such as lost profits) or for loss of data, and our liability for any other loss is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the loss occurred.
This limit does not apply to damages set by law, such as for a personal data breach (for example, Korean PIPA Arts. 39 and 39-2).
We are not liable for losses caused by events we could not prevent even with reasonable care, such as natural disasters, outages at other companies, or problems with your device or browser.
You save and keep result images yourself.
These terms do not reduce any rights that consumer protection laws where you live give you.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms, we post the effective date and what changed on this page at least 7 days in advance. Changes that are unfavorable to you are posted 30 days in advance.
If you do not agree to the changed terms, you can stop using the service before the effective date. Launches you already bought are governed by the terms in force when you bought them.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. This does not take away the protection given by mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live.
If a dispute arises, please contact us at support@bang9.dev. If it is not resolved, users in Korea can apply for mediation to the Content Dispute Resolution Committee (kcdrc.kr) or the Korea Consumer Agency (1372).
You can bring a claim in the court that has jurisdiction under the law. Small claims procedures are available for small disputes.
These terms contain no arbitration clause.
Language
This document was originally written in Korean. Translations are provided for convenience. If they differ, the original prevails, unless the law of the country where you live says otherwise.

These terms (version 1) were announced on October 1, 2026 and take effect on October 1, 2026.
Users in the EU

Product details and the total price including tax are on the launch button and in checkout; you pay at checkout, and the launch is provided right after payment.
Right of withdrawal: you can withdraw within 14 days of payment without giving a reason. Before you pay we only ask you to agree to immediate supply. So you can still withdraw within the period after using a launch, and you do not have to pay for the launch you used (see Users in the EU under the right of withdrawal above).
Withdrawal function: when you visit from the EU, the EEA or the UK, a "Withdraw from contract here" link appears at the bottom of the first screen. On that page you can send your withdrawal email right away, or you can send your notice to support@bang9.dev (see EU withdrawal function above).
If a launch or selfie does not match its description, you can have it fixed, get a price reduction or get a refund as the law provides.
The EU online dispute resolution platform has been closed. You can use the consumer dispute resolution bodies in your country.
Users in the UK
Right to cancel: you can cancel within 14 days of payment. Before you pay we only ask you to agree to immediate supply. So you can still cancel within the period after using a launch (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regs. 16 and 37).
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content must be of satisfactory quality, as described and fit for purpose. If it is not, we will repair or replace it or reduce the price.
Users in the United States

Disclosures under the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions are at 特定商取引法に基づく表記.
Users in Korea
These terms differ from the Content User Protection Guidelines on the following points (Content Industry Promotion Act Art. 28(3)).

- How we notify you: we announce changes to these terms and changes to or the end of the service by posting on this site.
- Suspension: we have no separate procedure for hearing your views before we restrict your use.
- Limitation of liability: for losses not caused by our intent or gross negligence, the limits under "Liability" above apply to the extent the law allows.
Cancellation by minors is under "Who can use the service" above, and dispute mediation under "Governing law and disputes".
